The new Paddon CR Vee Rake has evolved from the MX range which we have been refining over the last 10 years. The criteria for the design team was to build something that was strong, simple and of ease to operate. Not only have they met this but they have exceeded it by producing a machine that is simply unique to Paddon.By starting with a fresh piece of paper we were able to incorporate other refinements without working within the predetermined boundaries of previous models. Some of these refinements were brought about due to feedback and ideas from existing vee rake owners. After a year of field testing the prototype in 2006 we launched the Paddon CR Vee Rake onto the market in 2007. The CR is bigger and stronger than any thing else on the market, with a very solid frame, extensively strengthened, setting the scene for the rest of the rake. The CR rake has also had the reel spacings and angles further refined.

The closer reel spacings has allowed the machine to be shortened resulting in better manoeuvrability and stability. Coupled with 3 point steering and low centre of gravity this rake is very stable even on hilly country and is a breeze to manoeuvre around tight places and corners.

The machine is even more manoeuvrable and stable when operated with 2 point linkage.

The Paddon CR folds to a narrow 2.7 metres for road transport. This is done manually with telescopic arms on each side or with optional hydraulic cylinders. The two cylinders operate with one double acting hydraulic feed circuit which works through flow and lock valves, making both cylinders open and close at even rates. The automatic lock valves allows the machine to be operated whether the cylinders are fully or partially extended. Also the high 500mm reel lift means the reels will clear most raked rows when the reels are lifted.
